star news hot stars What a day and what a night. This was Australia\'s night of nights for kids and teenagers. Thousands of fans, mainly teenage girls, swamped outside the Sydney Entertainment Centre, some from as early as 5am, waiting for their favorite entertainment industry stars. By around 2pm, the line ups behind barricades were 30 people deep, and much of the press pack turned animal. Some teenage girls had home-made signs listing their mobile phone numbers, which I thought was not appropriate, and potential dangerous for the young ladies who advertised them. I don\'t know if I was fortunate or not to be taking photographs alongside the fans on this big outing. The million dollar question at big red carpet events like this is \"Who is worse: The media, the fans, the kids or parents?\" Finally, at 6pm, the indoor part of the Nick awards kicked off and the audience went banana. Ok, you want event results we hear... Bindi and Bob Irwin have scored top bragging rights at the Australian Nickelodeon Kids\' Choice awards, taking home the Hall of Slime Award for 2011 (the slime is green in case you wondered, and CM Punk won\'t forget it in a hurry). Bindi and Bob beat Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Guy Sebastian and LA - USA planted Rove McManus, were spurted with green slime as popular Daniel MacPherson announced them as the first ever winners of the award. \"It is such an honour just to be nominated. It\'s a wonderful award,\" Bindi told the media. \"We\'re carrying on in our dad\'s footsteps. He originally got the Burp Award here at Nickelodeon,\" she said. Hosted by iCarly mega stars Jennette McCurdy and Nathan Kress, the evening showcased bowls of maggots, an orange carpet, big and small envelopes and 5 tonnes of slime at the Sydney Entertainment Centre to mark the 16th annual Australian Kids\' Choice Awards. Australia\'s own teen idol Cody Simpson kicked booty, snatching up all three of his nominated categories - Super Fresh Award, Awesome Aussie and Fave Aussie Musos. \"I might not live in Australia at the moment, but Australia always lives in me,\" he told the crowd as he accepted his third award for the night, Awesome Aussie. The pop star performed a medley of some of his numbers \'Just For You\' and \'On My Mind\' for the thousands of screaming fans (80% girls), entering the grand stage with his guitar before ripping it up with dancers, and he even picked a one in a million young lady fan from the sold out crowd to sing to. A record breaking 1.6 million kids\' votes were counted to determine the winners. Ten\'s Masterchef judge Matt Preston, who also took out the award for Awesome Oldie, dipped his arm into a big tank of green slime to rip out the word Julia, announcing Julia Gillard as the Slime Minister. Prime Minister Julia Gillard (look-a-like) accepted the award. The real one wasn\'t there. The very same one who also didn\'t watch the ABC tele sexy tribute to her since she \"had better things to do\". \"Tonight, I\'m proud to go green because you voted me Slime Minister,\" Julia Gillard\'s look-a-like announced to the audience. \"I\'d like to ban budgie smugglers\", she added before dancing with Australia\'s Got Talent winners, Justice Crew and being covered in slime along with \"Mr Masterchef\" Matt Preston. Kyle Sandilands beat WWE superstar CM Punk (\'The Best In The World\'... in case you didn\'t hear) to win Baddest Baddie, accepting the award electronically from Los Angeles, US of A). A bush tucker bag of pre-recorded video messages were heard from international superstar Justin Bieber who snatched the Hottest Guy Hottie Award, LMFAO who won Fave Song for Party Rock Anthem, Katy Perry who nicked home Fave International Artist and Victoria Justice who grabbed Hottest Girl Hottie. Jennette McCurdy proved that she was a fab choice to co-host the night, besting Camp Oranges Luke and Wyatt, Hamish and Andy and Josh Thomas to take out the LOL Award. Cody Simpson returned to the grand stage to wrap up the night, performing his hit number All Day before being covered in green slime from head to toe. Insiders tip it was one of the better Nick Australia Kid\'s Choice Awards from a paid audience perspective, but also one of the most chaotic in history from a red carpet planted fan perspective. What a crazy day. We hope no one got hurt - big ego\'s or otherwise. Ok, get nicked. Replays of the event can be found on Foxtel\'s Nickelodeon channel this Saturday (Noon) and Sunday at 10.30pm. Othello arrives safely and announces that the Turkish fleet has been destroyed, and the Cypriots cheer. Othello’s ensign, Iago, offers to help a young Venetian gentleman Roderigo in his seduction of Othello’s wife Desdemona, because he (Iago) wants revenge against the Moor. Othello has appointed Cassio to be the captain of the navy, a position that Iago hoped to have. The people of Cyprus celebrate the navy’s safe return by lighting a bonfire. In the tavern, Iago proposes a toast to Othello and his wife, while Cassio fulsomely praises Desdemona. Iago offers Cassio wine, but Casio says he has had enough. Iago pressures him and when Iago offers a toast to Othello and Desdemona, Cassio gives in. Iago sings a drinking song and continues to pour Cassio wine. Montano enters and calls for Cassio to begin his watch, he is surprised to find Cassio drunk and barely able to stand upright. To Montano’s surprise, Iago explains that this is how Cassio spends every evening. Roderigo laughs at Cassio’s drunkenness and Cassio attacks him. Montano tells Cassio to refrain, but Cassio draws his sword and threatens to crack open Montano’s head. Cassio and Montano begin to duel, and Iago sends Roderigo to call the alarm. Cassio wounds Montano as Othello enters and orders them to lower their swords. Othello asks “honest Iago” to explain how the duel began, but Iago says he doesn’t know. Othello then turns to Cassio, who feels embarrassed and cannot excuse his actions. When Othello discovers that Montano is wounded, he becomes enraged. Desdemona enters and upon seeing that his bride’s rest has been disturbed. Othello declares that Cassio is no longer captain. The Cypriots leave Othello alone with Desdemona. Together Othello and Desdemona recall why they fell in love. They kiss and then walk back to the castle. Act 2 Inside the castle, a chamber next to the garden Iago suggests Cassio should ask Desdemona to talk to Othello about his demotion, because Desdemona can influence her husband to reinstate him. Desdemona and Emilia enter, and Cassio begins to plead with Desdemona. Iago watches them and proclaims his evil Credo. Othello enters; Iago, pretending not to notice him. Says that he is deeply troubled. Othello asks what’s wrong, and Iago responds by giving vague answers. Finally, he hints that Cassio and Desdemona are having an affair. Othello feels himself becoming jealous, but he wants proof of Desdemona’s betrayal first. A crowd of children, sailors and Cypriots encircles Desdemona, praising her beauty and purity. They leave her gifts and wish her happiness before leaving. Desdemona carries Cassio’s request for reinstatement to Othello. Othello sourly tells her to ask him another time and says he has a headache. Desdemona wraps his head in a handkerchief Othello once gave her, linen embroidered with strawberries. Othello throws it to the ground and says he doesn’t need it. Emilia picks up the handkerchief. Desdemona asks for Othello’s forgiveness. Aside, Iago demands that Emilia give him the handkerchief. When she refuses, Iago takes it from her. Othello dismisses the others, and sings that now he believes that Desdemona may be deceiving him. Iago returns, and the jealous Othello demands proof of Desdemona’s infidelity. Iago says that once, when he and Cassio were sleeping in the same room, he heard Cassio talking to Desdemona in a dream. In the dream, says Iago, Cassio told Desdemona that they must be careful to conceal their love. Iago says that dreams don’t prove anything, but remarks that he saw Cassio carrying Desdemona’s strawberry â€" embroidered handkerchief just the day before. Together, Othello and Iago swear vengeance on Desdemona. Act 3 The great hall of the castle. A small hall next to the great hall. Iago explains to Othello that he will lure Cassio here and talk with him while Othello watches, hidden. He leaves to go get Cassio. Desdemona enters and reminds Othello of Cassio’s request. Othello says that he still has a headache, and asks her to wrap her handkerchief around his head. When Desdemona produces a different handkerchief, Othello demands the one with strawberries. When she says she doesn’t have it. Othello says that it was a talisman, and troubles will befall her if she loses it. Desdemona says that he is trying to ignore Cassio’splea, and as she asks him about Cassio, he demands the handkerchief ever more insistently. Desdemona protests that she is faithful; Othello sends her away. Othello laments his fate when Iago calls out “Cassio is here!” Othello hides as Iago and Cassio enter. Cassio says he had hoped to see Desdemona here, for he wanted to know whether she had been successful with Othello. Iago asks him to tell of his adventures with that woman. Casio asks which woman, and, softly, so that Othello cannot hear, Iago says “Bianca”. Cassio laughs about his romantic adventures; Othello assumes he is talking about Desdemona. Iago also knows that Cassio has the strawberry â€" embroidered handkerchief, which Iago had previously hidden in Cassio’s house. Bugles sound, announcing the arrival of the Venetian ambassador. Iago warns Cassio that he should leave unless he wants to see Othello. Cassio exits and Othello determines to kill his wife by suffocating her “in her bed. While Iago will take care of Cassio. Lodovico, Desdemona, Emilia, Roderigo, and other dignitaries enter, noting Cassio’s absence. Iago tells him that Cassio is out of favor, and Desdemona says that he will soon be restored. Iago explains to the puzzled Lodovico that perhaps Cassio’s restoration is her wish. Desdemona says that it is, for she has quite affection for him. Othello calls her a demon and almost strikes her violently but held by Lodovico. Othello then calls for Cassio. Cassio enters and Othello reads a letter from the Doge, announcing that he (Othello) has been called back to Venice and Cassio is the new Duke of Cyprus. Enraged, Othello throws Desdemona to the ground. Desdemona on the ground laments. Emilia and Lodovico, comfort Desdemona. Aside, Iago tells Othello that tonight is the night to take revenge. Iago then secretly tells Roderigo that the only way to prevent Desdemona from leaving is for the new Duke to die, and arranges for Roderigo to kill Cassio that night. Othello orders everyone to leave. Desdemona goes to comfort him, but Lodovico drags her away as Othello curses her. Othello raves about the handkerchief, then collapses. Iago presses Othello’s forehead with his heel, then walks away. Outside the crowd of Cypriots calls out victory and glory for Othello. Act 4 Desdemona’s chamber. A lit lamp in front of an image of the Virgin Mary. Desdemona and Emilia are preparing for bed. Desdemona asks Emilia to put out the bridal gown she used on her wedding day, and says that if she dies, she wants to be buried in it. Emilia tells not to talk about such things. Desdemona recalls how her mother had a servant named Barbara, who fell in love with a man but went mad when he left her. After Emilia leaves, Desdemona prays. (Ave Maria) and then falls asleep. Silently, Othello enters with a sword. He kisses his wife three times; she awakens. Othello asks her if she has prayed tonight, because he doesn’t want to kill her soul. She asks God for mercy, both for her and for Othello. Othello accuses her of sin, saying that he must kill her because she loves Cassio. Desdemona denies it and asks that he summon Cassio on her behalf. Othello says that Cassio is already dead. Desdemona pleads for mercy, but Othello tells her it’s too late for that and strangles her. Emilia knocks at the door, announcing that Cassio has killed Roderigo. Desdemona softly calls out that she has been unjustly accused, and then dies. Emilia calls Othello a murderer; he retorts that Iago gave him proof of Desdemona’s infidelity. Othello begins to threaten Emilia, who calls for help. Iago, Cassio, and Lodovico enter. Emilia demands that Iago deny Othello’s accusation; he refuses. Othello says that the handkerchief Desdemona gave to Cassio is proof enough. Emilia, horrified, explains that Iago had stolen the handkerchief; Cassio corroborates her story. Montano enters and says that Roderigo, with his dying breath, has revealed Iago’s plan. Iago, brandishing his sword, runs away. After he realizes what has happened, Othello grieves over Desdemona’s death. He then draws a dagger from his robe and stabs himself. Others try to stop him but it is too late. Before he dies, he drags himself to his wife and kisses her. He lies dead next to Desdemona.
